The Musser Turbine functions using four rotating elements, which certainly isn't as simple as an axial compressor, however, is dramatically simpler than a piston type compressor. Since operation is purely rotational and is based on a 180° cycle, each rotating element can be perfectly balanced enabling high speed operation.Since the Musser Turbine is positive displacement as well, it's capable of creating significant pressures at low speed.
